Long story short:

Dude's doing an anthology of "Fairy Tales in the Future". Short retellings of classic fables, fairy tales, bedtime stories, etc. in a sci-fi setting.

I sent off an idea of a "Ant & Grasshopper" story that took place before the apocalypse instead of winter.

So the reply was no, it should be "funny and whimsical". An All-Ages (IE: Kid friendly) sort of thing.

The reply? No, too "tongue in cheek".
