What the hell is there to get? It's gotta be the most understandable idea for a story.
Well, the problem starts when they don't read the synopsis, but rather graze it for a quick dismissal.
Examples:
In the story, it starts out showing that Mr. Scarechild is on the run from the mafia after bursting out of a closet during the middle of a kidnapping. Near the end of the story, some mafia folks show up asking questions. In the response, the guy acted like the Mafia thing was just thrown in at the end for no reason.
Plus the negative comment that certain aspects of the story could be "poiniant" and are instead "played for laughs".

Yeah, it's a humorous kid's book, spit.
